Zirconium Silicate Opacifier
The name Zirconium is taken from the mineral name Zircon. It is a strong, solid transition metal which resembles titanium. Zirconium is mainly used as a refractory material and opacifier. A small fraction of zirconium is used as an alloying agent due its excellent resistance to corrosion.
Indian zirconium minerals
WMA India offers its clients a wide range of high quality zirconium metal in various forms. Primarily used in nuclear reactors, especially in the cladding of the fuel rods and due to its properties of resistance to corrosion. The metal is very resistant to corrosion by many common acids and alkalis and by sea water. So it is very extensively used by the chemical industry where corrosive agents are employed.
